The aesthetic value of this print takes a back seat to the deep emotional significance it holds for me. This single-edition print portrays my beloved childhood companion, who sadly passed away a little over a year ago. Creating this piece was an intensely personal process, as it allowed me to commemorate her life and our shared bond. I chose to utilize a reduction linoleum print technique for this work, a deliberate decision to symbolize the gradual decline of her health as she aged. Each layer of the print echoes a stage in her life, culminating in a poignant representation of both her physical frailty and the enduring love I feel for her. This artwork stands as a heartfelt tribute, capturing the essence of her presence in my life while reflecting on the passage of time and the inevitability of loss."
